A little red paint...

Oh...how I miss painting...I really must clean my studio up...
I got paints (poster paints) out for the girls yesterday and of course there was left over paint when they had had enough...so I quickly opened my sketch book and swirled some red on the page...later I had time to work on the sketches.
It's given me a push to paint more...it's amazing how paint can change your mood and the feel of a sketch...so much looser and it gives a free feeling...not so rigid.
I have another Etsy shop...but it's empty http://ashleyandjordan.etsy.com
What do you think? I would sell sketches of the girls and paintings??
Have a great Tuesday and thanks for visiting...

  10. Beautiful! I love it when a sketch becomes so much more from what you began with. Red is perfect! Congrats on the second Etsy shop!

  11. Thank you for your comment on my blog. :-)

Your sketches are wonderful! I´m absolutely delighted!

I paint in oil... you can see two picture on my blog. One of the right side - a frog and a marguerite and... my first picture in my life at the bottom of my blog. It´s a little treefrog.

(sorry for my "bad" English... it´s a long time away, that I write it ;-) )

    Have a nice day...

  12. I vote for a "yes" to sell them. Not only are the beautiful, they portray little girls of color. I often admire work on Etsy, but I am often struck by the fact that many artists don't portray people of many colors. As a brown-skinned woman with bi-racial daughters, your sketches show little girls that look like mine, from the sweet pouty lips to the headful of wondrous curls.

I just found your blog today and will be sure to bookmark it AND your Etsy shop. Best of luck with your new, upcoming venture!! (wink and smile)
