Do you have a favourite Art/Craft/Photographic medium?

The question of Tuesday is...what's your preferred Art , Craft or Photographic medium to work with?

I used to love Acrylic to paint with...and still do, but with the girls being so busy still...I don't get too many opportunities to just paint in my studio for hours.

So,last year I took a watercolour class...I had never really used watercolours in the way they could be used.It was a fantastic class and I learnt so much.
This was a study of my daughter from a photo of her when she was 3 months old.

Now I take my watercolours everywhere. It has definitely become my medium of choice...they have helped me in my increased productivity.
I always looked at "Watercolours" as being washy, watery and very blah...but you can actually achieve such depth and intensity...love them!
So...I ask you...has your preferred choice of medium changed over the years?
Have a great Tuesday!

I change occasionally, but I love digital. Forgiving and no dry time.

That painting is amazing! I've never been that good at watercolor. I use acrylics and pencil and ink mostly and of course digital.

oooooh how precious! I love all the sweet details in her face.
I'm partial to acrylics, though I've been wanting to re-visit watercolours lately. I also am slightly addicted to polymer clay:)

Thanks for sharing your beautiful painting! xox...jenn

That's a gorgeous painting. I've just been painting for not quite two months, so I am really experimenting - mostly with acrylics and pastels. My husband works in transparent watercolor and it has always seemed so complicated and unforgiving to me... Some day, I'll have to try them! Your are is certainly beautiful! :) Silke

Beautiful painting! Watercolors are so challenging. I love changing up media especially in my sketchbooks.

Thank for your comment and kind words!

Very bright, deep rich colors your are right about the past thoughts of water colors but really I think they are a more relaxing and forgiving medium to work with. Very beautiful you can just fill the chubbiness & fullness in her cheeks.

Few years ago, I've only ever painted with acrylic paints. Seeing what you've so fantastically achieved with watercolour, I am so inspired!!!

WOOL!!! And it always has been! Although I have moved from Yarn (makin hats) to Felt to Fabric!!!

So I didn't change material, but I did change technique from crocheting, to sewing!

Lovely poll!

...and for me it has to be bw photography, every time!

That said, I do like the depth and texture you achieve with your water-colour technique - very well observed :)

I did pen and ink forever. Then added watercolor. still not 100% comfortable with it - it is much harder to control, unlike pen and ink. But I do love the colors and washy effects.
