Tagine Tuesday...HELP me...


Help me please:: My husband bought me a Tagine for our 9th Wedding Anniversary...I was SO excited, being the foodie that I am I immediately did lots of Internet searching on how to prep your new Tagine...I was ready to go and buy all the ingredients for a night of Couscous and Tagine cuisine.
THEN, I read that the painted Tagines are ONLY really used for serving the Moroccan Stew? Oh, how disappointed I was.
I would really love clarification from someone out there who knows the low down on Tagines and traditional Moroccan cuisine.
