There's nothing more welcoming than the Architecture and colours of the Danish buildings...I love the roof tops either in black or green slate and then the beautiful terracotta ones...
I still have family over there...and have met some incredible blogging buddies too from Denmark.
My sister and I used to fly over from the UK in the Summers for a few weeks and stay with my Farmor and Farfar(grandparents).
We'd visit Tivoli Gardens and go shopping in Town...I remember always being SO excited as a child arriving in the airport and knowing we had 2 weeks in this Licorice filled land of fun with our Grandparents.
This is apparently one of the oldest buildings in Copenhagen...look at the windows...
Incredible, how they have warped with time...
This was our view from our Hotel when we stayed their last...unfortunately the last couple of times I went was for the funerals of my Grandparents. They are in my heart each and everyday...and believe they are looking out for me, you know when you can feel when a certain loved one is always with you.
Even after so many years,I still get emotional when I think of them.
The steeples of the churches are another subject all to themselves...I love this one.
And finally, I leave you with this one...there are as many/more bikes, than cars in Denmark...it's healthy, practical and GREEN...
Thanks for coming on my journey today...
It's been a lovely break from Mamas and Chicks tasks and errands which have to be completed...as we're 3 weeks away from the date...my head is spinning, and right here is a wonderful spot to stop and reflect.
Where would you go TODAY in the World if you could go anywhwere???
I look forward to reading about your desired Travels.
HUGS

How pretty! I don't think I've ever been to Denmark (~a couple of posts ago I mentioned all of the places I've been). The architecture is so spectacular!
...I love going to France, Germany and Italy, I think of those as my homes away from home :)
I have some far relatives in Denmark too!
And it is a gorgeous sight indeed... all those brightly coloured little houses! Especially on the smaller Islands...
Very sweet... very 'Pipi'!
you're right about the colours - aren't they just fab ?
Have a lovely weekend
How beeautiful- Europe has so much history! I love it...

Oh I adore old buildings too Char. The clostest I've gotten to copenhagen however is amsterdam.
Thanks for taking me on this beautiful little trip. I have not visited Denmark, but would like to. I love the old buildings. Here in the U.S., we have some old architecture, but no where near as old as Europe for sure.
Thanks Char, you are an aries child too aren't you? When is your birthday? Have I missed it?
p.s. put a return address on that mail. Maybe i'll think up something to send back, birthday style
I, too, am a Dutch girl. My parents went there about a year ago and they found some family history records dating back to the 1500s. Pretty cool. I loved all their pictures of the bike garages. America should take note! :0)
BEAUTIFUL!
Oh Char-this is perfect :)
I adore Denmark and if I could go anywhere at this moment-it would be right there:)
Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.
Lovely post with great photos. My parents are Danish and I went to Denmark with my husband in 1994. It was a hot summer and the sky was the most incredible blue. I can still recall the most amazing icecream I had outside the Hans Christian Anderson museum.
We are going again next year only this time with our teenage son.
