texture, colour, beauty and subtlety...

I love the transparency of Linen...
and also the depth you can achieve when painting on it is remarkable.
K...sorry it's take SO long...it will be in the mail this weekend :-)  We're supposed to be in the midst of a  postal strike...so we'll see when it arrives...SOON I hope.

HUGS and enjoy your weekend.

Friday faces...

HAPPY FRIDAY everyone...and soon we'll be welcoming June! Another really speedy month has just flown by us.
I am in the process of working on another Hoop Portrait for a wonderful lady in the USA...she has a blog too,so if you'd like to go and say hello...please do.
In the photo above you can see some of my books which will all follow me down into my studio in maybe 2 weeks!!!
Mudding (plastering) and sanding is probably my LEAST favourite job...but it has to be done!

We went to the National Ballet for a Tour of their rehearsal studio yesterday...and saw them rehearsing ALICE! Which if some of you remember we'll be going to see in a couple of weeks time...SO excited.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed being able to identify characters during rehearsal...Ballet dancers are SO strong and make everything look SO easy...very inspiring. I could have sat there all day and watched them dance!

I have another day of sanding and then I'll be priming today...getting closer to

I hope you all have a lovely weekend...

getting it.

 Hello sweet readers...
Just getting back into the swing of things...the Show went very well...lots of positive feedback from shoppers and from our vendors. Although our attendance was down about 20% we still had a steady flow of traffic....which is sometimes better than crazy numbers of Mums and their strollers all at once.
This is my table...the painting on the right (the abstract one) is not mine, I'm going to be re-thinking what I bring to my Show in the Fall...no pins...or stamps....or patches...just Tooth Fairy pillows...and my prints. I'm even contemplating not bringing my cards...because people want them for nothing...it's frustrating...they don't realize that they're handmade items too! If you go to Hallmark...can you find a handmade card for $2.50? Didn't think so!

So, that was the Show...and this is really what the post is about...our girls Lego Factory...

Mum, I promised I would send you some photos...they really "get it" now when it comes to building a structure...and they worked on this together without fighting...always a bonus!

I hope you're all well...
I know I haven't been to see you in your Blog Worlds recently...but this week I will.

WHAT are you up to this week?

I have a commission to start very similar to this one.
I'd LOVE to get this started.
I have to plan my weekly courses for this.

Tomorrow we're off to see this, which will hopefully lead to an abundance of future work.
*fingers crossed*

HAPPY Tuesday...it's rainy and damp here...

Good morning all...

So...I found a way to mount my painted pins...
Meet Mr. and Mrs. Fox...they live deep in the Forest by the stream...they politely stood for me whilst I painted their portraits...thank you freindly foxes!

Have a great day...

projects in progress...

Hello THURSDAY...how did you creep up on us AGAIN???
So I know I keep showing you all my beginnings of projects and sometimes they don't always get finished...but I think this is because if I don't start them they will vanish from thought.
I do sketch them down, but rarely will I return to my sketchbooks to look for ideas...it's a NOW or never kind of thing...kind of like the saying "if you can't remember what you were going to say...it can't have been THAT important"...well, I feel the same way about these projects...if I never start them...they obviously weren't important enough for me to continue...
These are 2 projects which I am working on for our Mamas and Chicks Show coming up in 3 weeks time...I'm making some Lavender Sleep Pillows...and the large(14") hoop is for a personal project I would like to try ... I'm REALLY excited about this one.
 The yarn was on sale for $1 a ball...THANK YOU...yes, I'll take 6!

And I am RE-cycling these canvases for the Deer ART I am painting for the Health Centre I mentioned earlier in the week.

I have to design some packages for my stamps...paint some pins...make some patches...finish some cards...
lol...I'm tired just thinking about it ...

WHAT are you up to?
Please do tell...

HUGS and a Happy Thursday!

Ours was incredibly busy...but I still managed to thrift/charity store to find some goodies...
I'm SUPER happy about my book finds...
Beautiful illustrations...

I adore these feathers...and these birds.
Amazing trees here and HERE.
I am loving these Landscapes, and the combination of human and animal HERE.
These and these make me happy!

What makes YOU happy today?
Remember to link back to your Monday Mentions.

HUGS my friends...see you tomorrow...we have a crafter coming to join us for our Tell ALL Tuesdays in the morning...hope you'll stop by!
