Being Framed

as promised...here are the pastel portraits framed.These were the 2 frames which I was given to place them in...quite GRAND and they fit wonderfully in their enviroment in which they will be going this Friday.

I always get a little nervous when handing over a commissioned piece as I'm not entirely sure about the expectations of the commissioner...if you know what I mean.

I would really love to start pushing my portrait side of my business as I really enjoy working with faces and people. Idealy I would paint my studies from Life, but children are a little harder to get to sit for a couple of hours...so working from photos as I did with these 2.

We'll see...I would love to sit down and chat with a "Portrait Artist" and ask them a WHOLE bunch of questions...

on a change of note...here's the wee plane Mr.R takes off in to jump. There was a competition going on at the Jump Zone this past weekend(I can't believe it's Thursday already!!!) so it was really busy in the air and on the ground.

we spent both Saturday and Sunday up there...the girls love watching all the skydivers and picking flowers for their flower press.

I just want to thank ALL of you who left such heartfelt comments in my last post.

To say thanks I am going to have an AUGUST GIVEAWAY...I'll post it after the weekend...it'll be a biggie.

Until then...I'm sure you'll see more posts from me over the weekend. We're off to the Beer Fest in Toronto this weekend, we've been going yearly since I arrived in Canada (I don't particularily love Beer-but the day out is fun)

Making up MONDAY!

Ok...so this is like an apology for NOT having posted these past few days.
We've had BUSY times...and so...let's begin with..."US"...Mr. R and Moi...we had a St.Pati's day Party/ Space Invadors contest on Friday night...SO much fun! (I love my Man!)

We went to "Purple Woods" the land of Maple Syrup...every year a few farms open their woods up to educate the public on the tradition of Maple Syrup up here in Canada. The teperature has to be perfect for the sap(syrup) to be tapped out of the trees...

We got there early and met up with a few freinds and their kids...it's a beautiful walk down through the woods...the Sun had just risen, the horses were just arriving ready to take us for a little ride.

Aren't they gorgeous...and they were planning on doing a 7 hour day! Apparently 2,000 people walk through this wood each day for the 10 days that it's open...I know, CRAZY and poor horses.

We went to the Zoo...

and saw the Orangatangs...this Mama really is NOT a happy camper.

I really do have mixed feelings about the Zoo.

 It's fantastic to be able to see all these animals at such close proximity...but really...they don't live in the best conditions.

Even Little Miss J wanted a go at painting...I love her flying houses and little bird...

So...I hope my apology has been accepted...and I've been forgiven.

As you can see...we've been BUSY.

my MAN has a gig...

tonight at the Dubiner...it's a new pub so we'll see how they like them. He's been with this Band "Ends in N" for a year now(the lead Guitarist and Mr. R have been playing together for 14 years) and they play covers of anything from U2, Coldplay,Michael Jackson,Eagle Eye Cherry,Hendix and Lenny Kravitz...to name a few.
Yup...that's my MAN(Mr R) in the picture...they play in our basement once a week...and have done for the past 10 years that I've been here in Canada.

We're SO lucky the girls absolutely adore their music because they're usually playing between 7 and 11pm at night...the girls hit the sack at 7-7.30pm...so instead of Classical music to listen to on a Sunday night...they get soft ROCK...through the vents.
Tonight I am going out though and we have a sitter for the girls...
There's nothing like LIVE music...I'll try and catch some on my camera so you can hear them in action.

I am NOT a bit musically inclined...have never been...and only pray that the girls got a little bit of their daddy in them when it comes to music.

HAPPY Friday...feeling run down with a cold...but sweated it out at the gym this morning.

Happy Birthday my love...

it was actually yesterday...but didn't get around to dedicating a post for him. We made a cake for him...and wrapped pressies, made cards...the girls and I sang Happy Birthday...

Happy Birthday Ron...not a day goes by when I don't think how I am the luckiest lady alive...I hope all your wishes come true.

Don't our girls look like him! I know...a lot...they're all gorgeous.

Thank you ALL for all your very sweet comments about our Show...it went really well.

I forgot my camera...ya, really, I know...so silly. There was a great attendance which I worked hard to get...so when the crowds of shoppers came in...my nervousness passed.(it's amazing how crazy your stomach can get leading up to an event like this...disappointing 55 vendors can be a little stressful!)

Sales were good though and our vendors seemed to have a successful day too...this makes our future Shows hopefully much easier on the gathering of vendors next year.

My next post I'd like to introduce you to a few vendors I shopped from...I'm hoping to post again tomorrow...I thought I would be less busy after the Show...but with only 3 weeks to go until we fly across the Atlantic...I have 3 commissions to complete and lots of organising before we go.

I will be passing by to say hi to you very soon...but have to rush out the door right now.
