HYPE DANZ...the dancing mural...

Hello weekend readers...I have to say, this week was a busy one...but I love finishing projects and I am really very happy how this one which I did for a wonderful lady called Margarita who runs a fantastic Dance studio just minutes away from where we live.
The girls have been dancing at Hype Dance for the past 4 years...this will be Miss A's 5th year.

She started just a few years ago and has grown on her reputable reputation as an excellent dance instructor in many different areas of Dance.
Margarita now has other instructors working with her. She also offers adult drop in classes in Ballet/Jazz...Ballroom and Hip-hop...I hope I can gather enough adult ballerinas to do ballet again this year!

IF you live in the Durham Region of Ontario Canada...and are looking for a Dance School to put your kids in...or yourself...please visit HYPE DANZ's website HERE.

Well...now I am warm again indoors...and am about to organise my Saturday morning Art Classes.
They'll be running from October 8th all the way through to December.
If you're interested please email me and I can send you more information.

Have a lovely day.

dance dance dance...

Such a beautiful day...fresh...sunshine and a breeze which clears your head, especially when you're working outside.
I started the dance mural...remember the preliminary sketches HERE?
Look at the landscape I have behind me to look at when I need a break from painting...beautiful isn't it!
There are areas I need to correct. Like the tap dancer's HUGE left foot...lol...miss J was with me and questioned 'Why is her one foot SOOooo big?", she notices everything...which I love about her...she also hears everything...she doesn't miss a beat.
So...I'll be back up there finishing off the figures and then the logo has to be painted.

**excuse the photos...I forgot my camera!

I know I haven't been able to visit your Worlds this week much...but I will get there soon, I promise.

Have a great day.

being flexible

hello dear readers...
I am working on an exterior Mural this coming week...just presented the sketches and received the ALL STEAM AHEAD!

I feel like I'm Spring cleaning in the Autumn at the moment...finding I have been quite disorganised over the past couple of months...

Hope you're enjoying your weekend.

studio progress...and more

Just a quick Hello ... and a few pictures from this past week... Miss A and Miss J had their Ballet Recital on Saturday.

They both did SO well, if you want to see their little dances you can see them performing  HERE and HERE

They then had the start of the Fiesta Week...a Parade followed by all the different cultural halls performing traditional dances on the stage at Memorial Park. I love their costumes...

such a perfect day out...but a long one..and not forgetting "Father's Day"...HAPPY FATHER's DAY to all you wonderful dads oout there...but especially to my Dad over in the UK and our girls dad Mr.R.

I love this photo of our girls...Miss A taking care of her little sister...this fills my heart.

And on to my studio...slowly slowly...the colour is one of my favourite colours...it reminds me of our Hallway growing up...it's calming and brightens the light of the artificial lights in the room.
We got the ikea furniture installed...just need to put the remainder of the doors on...Oh...see...I have a door! and trim!!! The table which can move to the middle of the room and then move to the side will most likely not be made yet...we have some fold out tables which I am going to use for Camp...
Here's my sink area...I still need a cupboard above the sink...the cupboards which are still in the room are going into the "Dark Room" just inside that door in the above picture.

I can't wait to start unpacking all my materials...and setting up the room for Camp.

BUT first a few cabinets need installing and paint touch-ups to be done.
I will try and pass by to say hello.
Bare with me...these are BUSY times.Check back tomorrow...as I have some VERY interesting project ideas to show you!!!

Are you working on anything new? please leave a link in the comments area and this way all our readers(and me) can come by and see.

ballet feet?

Yes...the girls put on their pretty Birthday dresses from Mormor and Morfar and off we went to Toronto to see "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland"...which the National Ballet of Canada put on at the Four Seasons Centre.

First though we HAD to pass by the Disney store as we lost the one which was only 20 minutes away...and the girls always look forward to seeing what's there...I think it brings back memories of our Disney Trip last year.
WOW...it was an absolutely STUNNING production. SO colourful,  the costumes were beautiful and the dancers incredible.
CONGRATULATIONS to all the dancers from the National Ballet of Canada and thanks to the Royal Ballet for giving Toronto the rights to re-produce their Alice in Wonderland Ballet which was just in London months ago.
Christopher Wheeldon Choreographed an amazing Ballet!

Our favourite part had to be the Cheshire cat...stunning. These dancers are not only amazing at dancing but acting too...
BRAVISSIMA!

ok...now back to reality...painting the studio again...I made a mistake and put MATT paint on the walls and should have put eggshell.
Oh well.
The floors are going down this evening...so I'll be back soon with photos!

These next couple of weeks will be a little busy and so I will be taking a blogging break...but keeping you up to date on the progress of the studio.

Thanks for stopping by...and IF you have the opportunity to go and see ALice...it's on until the 25th June...GO!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Friday faces...

HAPPY FRIDAY everyone...and soon we'll be welcoming June! Another really speedy month has just flown by us.
I am in the process of working on another Hoop Portrait for a wonderful lady in the USA...she has a blog too,so if you'd like to go and say hello...please do.
In the photo above you can see some of my books which will all follow me down into my studio in maybe 2 weeks!!!
Mudding (plastering) and sanding is probably my LEAST favourite job...but it has to be done!

We went to the National Ballet for a Tour of their rehearsal studio yesterday...and saw them rehearsing ALICE! Which if some of you remember we'll be going to see in a couple of weeks time...SO excited.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed being able to identify characters during rehearsal...Ballet dancers are SO strong and make everything look SO easy...very inspiring. I could have sat there all day and watched them dance!

I have another day of sanding and then I'll be priming today...getting closer to

I hope you all have a lovely weekend...

Mondays mentions...and a little pirouette.

It's Monday again!!! and very nearly March...wow, I can already see this year speeding ahead of me...and me running to catch up!
I promised my parents I would add some pictures of the girls open house they had at Ballet last weekend.(don't forget to scroll down for our Monday's mentions!!)
I love the Dance School they're at, it's so relaxed...no pressure...they can wear what they like as long as they have pink tights and pink ballet shoes.

I'm not sure if this is the route they would like to go...they really don't practice at home ever (bad Mummy) but they do love going...and have never complained about going.

These are their costumes from last year's Ballet recital...Jordan had wings to go with hers...excuse the blurriness...the flash didn't do any of the photos justice so I ended up turning it off...they're in 2 separate classes...but Jordan is catching up with her sister fast! Because she started when she was just 2 1/2...she is the youngest in her class...I just love watching them dance!
Ok...thank you for bearing with me on our little ballerina fix....
NOW for MONDAYS MENTIONS...

ANY little person would LOVE a Thomas and Olivia ABC Poster  I know I would!!!(quick...they're going fast!!!)
To camp out in your own Tipi...would be pretty great!
Elisabeth from Fine Little Day has a Fine Little Gallery where you can submit your kids photos of their ART...of course I submitted ours...go HERE and try and find their drawings...Miss J had some pretty wacky hair that day!
Last but not least...have you heard of Mae? It's a Shop,a blog and a website run by 3 lovely ladies and they make the most gorgeous fabric wall decals which anyone would have fun with.
Hope you love our mentions....I know they're quite "little" orientated today...but little is a LARGE part of our lives.

JUST quickly...I guess this is my last mention...Happy Birthday Kayley...here's your gift.(hope everyone gets over that stomach bug and then we can catch up!)

HUGS to you all...I look forward to seeing what you've been up to this weekend.
If you have any Monday Mentions...remember to add your link in the comments area.

Summer-TIME- GAMEs...

Good Monday morning...or afternoon should I say, as I started this post this morning early and then had a phone call from a friend...."could you, would you....how soon can you?"
Her niece is turning 17 whilst they're on their family Vacation. My good friend D bought a beautiful leather bound travel journal for her and asked if I would add an insert for the opening page. So we spent 1 1/2 hours chatting and finding out exatcly where she was off to. I sketched and sipped tea...and this is what became...they're off to London for a few days and then to a beautiful Villa in Tivoli for 3 weeks...prime location 30 minutes outside Rome...they'll have a wonderful trip!
I was thinking I would at least be able to log in and post a couple of times this weekend...but time flew away with me...The girls had their recital, too cute...
Little Miss J loved her little butterfly costume and did so well on stage...she even smiled...
Little Miss A was graceful as ever and remembered all her moves.
ONE very proud Mama here!

::SUMMER GAME::
So...this morning I was thinking - we didn't play our little game I said we would have on Friday...I just want to see out of curiousity, as my "STATcounter" says I get hundreds of views a day...but I don't know because I don't get hundreds of comments...so, lets play a game.
Go to the Comments below...ask a question and either I will answer it or another reader will.
We'll keep this going for all of today and see actually how many people read the whole post...or how many of you fabulous readers just look at pictures??...please if you read this ...comment below..the question can be very random!

HAPPY SUMMER-TIME-GAMES!!!
