Birthday Cake...

Thank you for the Birthday wishes...did you see the beautiful Horse Tam created in the post below?

I am having a lovely day, although I do wish I was closer to my siblings and parents at times like these...BUT...I didn't have to make a cake...as Bridget, a good friend of mine made THIS for me....isn't it perfect! She also treated to lunch yesterday...she made Roti!!! YUM...she's originally from Barbados...she has a Cake business which you can check out ...it's called Bridget Bakes Cakes.

So I won't be sharing the recipe of my Mum's almond cake with you today...BUT...I promise I will one day :-)

This is a painting I finished for a friend as a very belated house warming gift.

I have to dash and get Miss A.

Enjoy your day!!!

Beth is now two!

My little one is now 2 years old... after an exhausting but fun weekend of entertaining children and family she is now packed off, not so happily to nursery for the day. A traumatic experience for any mum but one I'm sure is more for my benefit than any true unhappiness. Still the little eyes bursting into tears and her legs clinging round me as she hugged me,  I tried to be oh so jolly and say 'see ya later alligator' brought back memories of going through this the first time round with my son! I'm hoping today will have been better than her first day which was Tuesday. She wasn't given her usual morning sleep then (despite me asking before I sent her if that was ok) so fell asleep as her lunch arrived and then was just tired and hungry all afternoon as they couldn't get her to eat anything! Oh Joy! So today she wasn't best pleased to be back there!!! I'll see what tomorrow brings!! Other major joys in my life is a big hug and congratulations to lovely Char who I believe is an Aunty to another beautiful baby again, well done to her lovely sister I'm looking forward to hearing more! 4 YESTERDAY!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY sweet little miss J...I really can't quite comprehend where these 4 years have gone? Time has just flown by...
Sisters just 2 years and 2 days apart...if I posted for one and not the other...I would be in trouble. So fabulous readers...bare with me...this was how we passed the day with little miss J.
I adore this photo...I had a couple more but her cheeks on this one were just priceless.
more sketch and note books...I think I'm creating mini-me's as I have a passion for them...and it may be rubbing off on them!
birthdays,birthday mornings,birthday cards...it was a bright and sunny day...perfect.
she really does look older than 4...but little miss J is SUCH a 4 year old...emotional,tempermental,testing,innocent(with a know it all attitude),loving, caring towards people she adores...and shy in unfamiliar situations.
and my oh my, is little miss J ever determined!
She learnt to tie her own laces whilst we were away, so we bought her lace-ups for her birthday...
and I finally was able to give them the 2 necklaces I had made for them by KELLY
then it was time for a break and to enjoy the outdoors
she could swing all day...but it's all about taking turns...
the perfect Birthday PICNIC in the park...HAPPY BIRTHDAY little miss J!

Thanks in advance for all the birthday wishes for our little one, I read the others for little miss A from you all on Monday...thank YOU!

Have a fantastic Friday...I'll be back to show you my latest creations...

Happy Birthday my love...

it was actually yesterday...but didn't get around to dedicating a post for him. We made a cake for him...and wrapped pressies, made cards...the girls and I sang Happy Birthday...

Happy Birthday Ron...not a day goes by when I don't think how I am the luckiest lady alive...I hope all your wishes come true.
Don't our girls look like him! I know...a lot...they're all gorgeous.
Thank you ALL for all your very sweet comments about our Show...it went really well.
I forgot my camera...ya, really, I know...so silly. There was a great attendance which I worked hard to get...so when the crowds of shoppers came in...my nervousness passed.(it's amazing how crazy your stomach can get leading up to an event like this...disappointing 55 vendors can be a little stressful!)
Sales were good though and our vendors seemed to have a successful day too...this makes our future Shows hopefully much easier on the gathering of vendors next year.
My next post I'd like to introduce you to a few vendors I shopped from...I'm hoping to post again tomorrow...I thought I would be less busy after the Show...but with only 3 weeks to go until we fly across the Atlantic...I have 3 commissions to complete and lots of organising before we go.
I will be passing by to say hi to you very soon...but have to rush out the door right now.

Ginger snap cake

Dinner was great...with take out Thai and Sushi...where can you go wrong?
And the other 2 couple brought deserts with them...D had made white chocolate mint mousse...and they were divine, I wish I had taken pics of every one's creations. N brought a caramel cheese cake and fruit covered in white, milk and dark chocolate...
I, just to top up the calories, made my Mum's "Ginger Snap Cake"...easy peasy to make!
All you need is...a bowl,a plate, a mixer...1/2 litre of whipping cream and 2 packs of Swedish Original Ginger Snaps.(they work best because they soften just right)
whip the cream...you could add sugar, but I don't think it needs it.
Place a layer of snaps on the plate and layer whipped cream on top of the snaps...repeating 7 times.
Leave the last covering of whipped cream until just before serving to your guests, cover with cling-film and place in the fridge at least 3 hours before guests arrive...giving time for the snaps to soften.
It's delicious, everyone loved it but were expecting it to be crunchy but it has a very similar consistency to Tiramisu...I think I could have gone a little lighter on the whipped cream in between the layers...and added a few more snaps?
Something to consider in the future...I haven't made it in a while.
This was the other drawing I did for N...she loved it...I added her new little pets on the front of her skirt.
They both were very touched with their gifts...such sweet ladies, we're very fortunate to have such lovely neighbours.
Well, today looks like another rainy day...I hope it clears,I'm planning on taking the girls to see a friend who lives a good 40 minutes away...Rain Rain go away...come back another day!
Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday.
Getting ready for another busy week staring tomorrow.
Thank you for all your encouraging comments about our new banner. It's growing on me...

Once Upon a Time...there were 2 girls...

Once Upon a time there were 2 girls...
And at the time of their 5th Birthday...they were gifted an Original Once Upon a Time watercolour...
Julia was given the Unicorn(as she is strong and very independent)...and Mya the Koala(she's so cute and cuddly).
Julia and Mya are twins which were born 3 days before our eldest(Ash). We celebrate their birthdays every year and try to see them at least twice a month.
I am working on our girls watercolours as I seem to gift or sell them to everyone else(isn't this always the way)...but never get around to painting anything for our own girls.Ash is getting a Unicorn and Jordi a Zebra...
If you or anyone would like an original watercolour...please contact me, I'll be happy to customize it any which way they or you'd like.
This is our eldest and as you can tell...she just turned 5.
I can't believe how the time has flown by.She's turning into such a lovely girl who loves books and playing outside. She also loves downtime watching her favourite movies...some of them being::
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Inspector Gadget
Wizard of Oz
Mary Poppins
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Such great CLASSICS!
Ash couldn't have been happier to be 5...why do we love getting older as kids?
I love this Sun dress we got Jordan for a gift.I think they received about 5 dresses each...yes, they are very spoilt...so how can you hold back when they look so sweet all dressed up in bright colours with flowers and pretty patterns...I love our girls.
Have a wonderful day...
Char,Ontario
