Sitting eating my lunch I hope all these envelopes reached their destinations this week...

TELL me...Why does a GREY day change your mood SO much?

Yesterday it was 17 degrees and bright sunshine...today we have freezing rain and a blanket of GREY.

30 MIN SKETCH

again...I have reached the end of the day, with only 21 minutes to go...and just finishing my shoes for Thursday's Art for Haiti...

THESE have to be one of the MOST comfortable pair of shoes...ALL leather "Hobbs" shoes...probably 24 years old...don't you just LOVE the fact that our feet stay the same size??!!

they look awesome with a smart pait of trousers and a great pair of jeans...I need to re-sole them this Spring.

Look at the leather...I miss them ALL Winter long!

Do you have shoes you miss when you have to migrate ionto another Season?

Talking about Winter...I think we're finally getting it...-24 this evening and flurries...I didn't think it could snow when it was SO cold?

Went out to shovel this evening and cursed A LOT...it's o.k. nobody could hear me...I mean WHO in their right mind goes out when it's THAT cold!

I'm paying over due Library fees tomorrow as I was stuck in the house again today with the girls...we had fun...played Pirates, found treasure...taught them about 3Dimentional Shapes...made a few out of card...watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for the millionth time...I think it's the chocolate they love so much....and...and...and...

SO tired again...I have missed 3 days at the gym this week...I could have gone in the evenings but have been catching up on work I usually get done during the day.

Looking forward to tomorrow...I have a good feeling.

a little embarrassed...

at showing flaws in my sketching which I did late last night(especially the frog...yuck-and I sketched in ballpoint pen... NOT at all erasable) and misspellings too...funny what the brain can't correct before the detailed info reaches your hand and starts scribbling...

This was an idea that came to me at 12 mid-night last night...you know...after I had had a cat-nap for 20 minutes on the sofa...and thought...hmm, why not make an alphabet poster with all the animals I draw???
SO...this is the beginning of a project which I will be starting in February...one animal a day...and I will make limited edition prints from the originals...but will ALSO be selling the originals DAILY on Etsy...they will be going REALLY cheap...so watch out for the SALE!
I'm excited...it'll be a fun project.
I'll create them individually daily, then make a poster to commemorate the project.

JUST finished a bowl of warm oatmeal with dates and half a banana...also JUST finished my first cup of Tea...which had been re-heated 3 X...probably NOT a very healthy decision...could have made another cup I suppose!
It's baffling...I usually drink Earl Grey Tea,(had forgotten my stash of EG Tea in the UK...but remembered the English Breakfast)...I swear, the EB cools down SO much quicker than the EG...anyone else found this?

So...back to my 2010 list...which has many 2009 items on it which I had to bring over to this year...
I will post it later...it REALLY won't fit in this post(honestly, trust me...it's LONG...perhaps even a little overwhelming).

I am feeling jaded...or could it be jet-lagged? How many days can it take to re-adjust back to normal?

ALL I know is that it's FREEZING here today....-18...ouch...chilli!

Here's my 3x3...if you had passed by earlier you would have read about Gustavo Aimar and how he is celebrating 3 years of Blogging(he's a FANTASTIC illustrator)...and is celebrating by posting little 3x3inch creations on THIS site, which ANYONE can participate in.
Such a great way to celebrate...spread the word and create something 3x3 for him to post.
All he needs you to do...if you don't understand Spanish: send him and email to aimargus@gmail.com with a Jpeg of your painting,drawing,illustration...but it has to be drawn in a 3x3inch format...not just cropped to size. Your link and name and what media you used.

So much fun...make it your weekend project!

tea and biscuits

She doesn't really look exactly like these...but has some similarities, and I should really wear my glasses whilst sketching because things always slant to the right a little and have been noticing it more and more recently!(getting old)
I just finished the above sketch whilst we were having our Tea and Biscuits before her nap time...her Tea consists of a dipping of the Tea bag in warm milk...she just likes to dip her biscuits in her Tea like her Morfar(my dad).
The one below was sketched quickly before we went raspberry picking this morning. She kept moving around so much...but I captured somewhat of her and her concentration whilst she practiced writing her ABC's.
I find sketching on a whim something which I used to do a lot more of before I had to chase after our girls...and now that they're more independant...I would love to start again...I have been trying to remember to bring sketching materials with me wherever I go...and would love to make a day to day journal...with sketches amongst appointments.
