FRIDAY fashions

 HAPPY Friday...yeah, I know...fashions for Dolls...Dolls play a major role in our house at the moment...and I refuse to pay $10 for a hat for them...OR upto 30 for an outfit!

 So...after MANY months of NOT crocheting...I had to re-learn and make these two little ladies their winter hats...because it's RATHER chilly up here.

 This is Olivia(Miss A's doll)...she calls everyone Olivia!

 This is Daphne(Miss J's doll) such an old name...but I believe J is an old soul...she's been here before...she "knows" things!

Hope you've enjoyed my Friday Fashions...I will probably be adding more...in the near future...
These girls(and ours) deserve the World.

the Owl is for our girls's Dance Teacher...she's the sweetest dance instructor ever...the girls love her!

she has a 1yr old daughter who is just beautiful.

so this is my gift to her...

pages from my sketchbook

late last night...after I had finished the Bright Star sketch...I opened up my green Moleskine again...

seeked out Frida...I have always been fascinated with this woman...as I think many artists are.

She was a beautiful,talented and very troubled lady...but she spoke what she believed. I admire this...

I know this sketch is a little off...her nose is all wrong...I blame it on the crazy hour of the night I quickly sketched it...I think it was 12.20AM...yeah...I wouldn't consider myself to be a night owl...but my Life right now  means I have to be one....if not I'd have nothing to post...and this blog wouldn't exist from this side of the Atlantic anyway.

My second sketch was of Frida painting...I decided to NOT use pencil first...I have to work on hands...I know I've said this before. I like this...she was a stunning lady.

Meet Edmund....he's a work in progress...he'll have a friend soon...her name will be revieled soon.

He's concerned about the Earth, and is studious...he loves to travel...he could change the World...just wait and see!

I can't give too much away as this is a book I'm illustrating for a good friend who has written SUCH a wonderful story...but I will show you little snippets along the way.

Hope you've all had a great day so far...I feel like I'm a little behind, but am accomplishing a few things today. I have yet to pull out another pair of shoes for my "ART for HAITI" project...but I will get it done amongst all the other promises made today.(many of them I have promised myself!)
Hey...I still have 8 more hours until midnight...LOADSA time!!!

Do you think 5 1/2 hours sleep at night is sufficient?

TUESDAY's SHOES - Art for Haiti...contd.

there's something about Converse All Stars...I wish I could wear them ALL year round...but for 4 months they don't touch the ground outside...maybe this is why our shoes wear better...a little like snow tyres and summer tyres.

I didn't get up this morning at a crazy hour...because I slept through my alarm and was woken by Little Miss A.

So as you can see by the photo...I have just had lunch whilst finishing the sketch.

Updating my new Esty Store...there will be 3 pairs in there to date...

Mr. R asked yesterday..."How many do you think you'll do?"

I told him " as many pairs of shoes that I have in our wardrobe"..."How many is that?" ..."Not sure...I guess we'll have to wait and see" I said.

I swear it feels like Spring is just around the corner here...2 degrees and the snow is melting...what's up with that!

Once Upon a Time...Dog

So many families have miniature Schnauzer's that I thought this would be a sweet subject for one of my Once Upon a Time series,especially as it's full of Spring colours.

Once Upon a Time...

Pinks and Blues, Yellows and Oranges...oh, and not forgetting Spring Greens...Easter must be one of the most Colourful Holidays we have. I was noticing how I have painted many watercolours over these past few days with girls in mind, rather than boys...I will try and make a conscious effort to subject line boys in the next few that I do.That's what happens when you're blessed with 2 girls...everything becomes "girlie".
I'm really enjoying this series of colour and animals...I think I will as well as adding them to my Etsy Store, I will make some gift cards with the designs.
Tomorrow is a special day for me...can you guess what it is?

Twice "Once Upon a Time"...

Here's a "Once Upon a Time" dedicated to my English roots...I was born and brought up in England by my parents who are Scandinavian. The love of really woolly sheep in grassy fields will never part from my heart.I do miss the English countryside and love the tall hedgerows thick with wild-life...2 in one day...not bad Char!(if I do say so myself...pat-pat...lol)

This is #5...I have a few questions I would love some help with...should I post them in my Etsy Store? Or wait until after the trade Show which is in one month's time?
Should I make prints and sell them too? And should I have the originals already framed to sell at the Trade Show?
I'd love some advice...
I'm in the middle of painting another one and hope to have that one up too today...so check back and tell me which you prefer...
