The Tooth Fairy...

yup, the years have suddenly crept up on us...I remember when Little Miss A was 7 months old and cut her first tooth. She was a late bloomer...so at almost 6...she came running to me the other day..."mummy, my tooth hurts"...
"let me see"
"Aaahhh, you have your first wobbly tooth!!!"
SHE beamed from ear to ear...SUCH a joy sparkled throughout her body...how could SUCH a milestone be SUCH a terrific one?
Then came the..."but I don't have a tooth pillow..."
"it's ok sweets, I'll make one"
Well if you make one, you have to make 2 here in this house...that comes with having 2 girls who love eachother and want everything the other one has!
Et Voila!
I used T-shirts which had become too small but ones which they used to wear all the time...
and...I even got to christen my new labels!!!
These are memories which will be cherished for a Life time...
Thanks for passing by so I can share them with you.

SWIM suits...check...
We're off for a couple of weeks...Tam will have to keep you posted with updates from the UK whilst we head SOUTH...(thanks Tam)
Our girls can't wait to see Minnie and Mickey, Winnie and Piglet...Daisy and Cinderella...it's been 30 years since I was there...I'm sure it's changed
DISNEY here we come.
ANY TIPS?? I would greatly appreciate them *smile*
I'll update sometime during the holiday.
I am SO excited! It's been a LONG time planning this trip.

BUT...we have a couple of days until we leave...and I still have a few brilliant vendors who we just love to mention from our Show.

A good friend, a Scandinavian from Finland, and Etsy vendor...and an ever faithful vendor at our Mamas and Chicks Shows.
Sarah from Lyyli makes custom T-shirts, Pajamas, dresses and even clothes for adults...you can visit her at HERE

The girls adore her clothes...so bright and because they're personalized...it makes them ALL the more special.
Another great reason to personalize clothing...no fights over who's is who's...as our girls grow, they're begining to be very similar sizes...their feet are the same size all ready...HOW CAN THAT BE?
So...by personalizing with Lyyli...eliminates ALL issues between our girls in that catagory!

I have many others who will be getting a mention over the next couple of days...

I look forward to reading all your DISNEY tips!
Thanks...

On the GO....

It's sunny...but cold...we have a busy day ahead of us...
Hope you're all well...

back to normal...

after a few month of organizing the Mamas and Chicks Show...I can hopefully kick back a little and enjoy our girls...trying to squeeze in 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there to email vendors back with answers about the Show...takes away a lot of quality time with the girls.
This is my table...my cards...my prints.
I sold a few, and was fortunate to receive a couple of orders, no BIG commissions...that's ok though, we had about 300 people through the Show in the first 2 hours...it was CRAZY!!!
I have to tell you about some of our vendors because we have SO many who are mompreneurs and are either just starting out or have been working their passions for years.
In the image above you can see Kathy & Kim's table...they personalize water bottles, T-shirts and mugs...check out thier site...great gift ideas!

This has to be one of my favourite vendors (note***ONE*** of my Favourite) her name is Kessa and her company is called Patouche.
she carries a mix of Pirate pants for boys and beautiful Japanese prints with bright coloured fabrics for her dresses for girls...you can visit her website HERE.
I'll be back later to show you more goodies we had at our Show.
I wish you were all closer...because I could fill the WHOLE Mamas and Chicks Show with your beautiful creations!

Hope you're all well.I have started re-visiting your Worlds and am putting time aside this afternoon for visits too.
Until later.

The COUNTDOWN is on...MAMAS & CHICKS here I come!

Only 3 days to go...we've placed 100 lawn signs around town...packed 250 Mama Loot Bags...
I've been frantically trying to get "my" stuff ready for the Show too...I made 100 unique handmade cards on Saturday and Sunday...
and tried to keep a routine with the girls...Little miss A made her 5 sentences on Monday(oh yes, that was just yesterday!!!) ...
and wrote them on the wipey plastic on our windows and in her Diary book...
then we squeezed in a few hours of fun too...always the most important part of the day!
I can't believe how our children grow so quickly!!!
Miss J is still a little shorter than Miss A...and Miss A reminds her of this even if it's unconciously!
A BIG shout out to Tam for posting over the last few days...and a BIG Happy Birthday to Jack.
I have been communicating with 55 vendors...our MAMAS & CHICKS Spring Shopping Show is on Friday.
IF you're in the Toronto/Durham Region...please pass by, I'd love you to come and say hello.
I promise to take pictures of the Show this time...and maybe even blog from the Show...unless it's CRAZY busy!!!

Next week things should calm a little...and I will be able to visit you all.
I hope these Spring Days are beaming Sunshine on you...and for those of you who are coming into Fall...enjoy the colours! The 2 most precious of Seasons...

A fun day

So sweet, he tried to blow out the sparklers on the back of the shuttles ice cream cone engines!

Blowing ping pong balls with straws, they were happy for ages!!
Well it was a great success... I am still slightly jaded a couple of days later, the life of a party entertainer deserves immense respect from now on.. how do they have the energy to keep those kids happy! The kids loved the party and my crazy games like the Moonrock Relay (a team relay with eggboxes, painted and wrapped in foil, as moonrocks, a bucket also wrapped in tinfoil, to carry them to with a toy 'robotic arm' grabber) and Comet throwing (plastic balls wrapped in fire coloured tissue paper thrown into a sparkly hula hoops!) were surprisingly a success - thanks google for the ideas! MASSIVE PHEW! I really enjoyed seeing them all having fun and it really was a party on a budget so that was good!

This morning having sneaked into the middle of our bed, he looked over to me and said "Mummy, am I still 4?" very cute indeed! Today at tea though the little monkey, not wanting to feed himself said "actually Mummy I think you got it wrong, I am still 3 and need  you to help me!" They think they have us sussed don't they!

Have you had any great kids parties? Ideas for next year could be very useful!
Hope all's going well with the Mama's and Chicks Char, I know you will be working really hard on it. Good luck!!

Shuttle me to bed!

Well today my little boy is 4 years old.... and I've just finished his cake so thought I would share it with you all before I drag myself to bed!

He is really into space, rockets and the shuttle at the moment, having watched it take off last weekend he was very excited about being a grown up big boy as he would then be able to fly his own rocket up to the moon. Funnily enough when he was about 2, I remember a night-time drive with him sitting in the back talking to Mr Moon through the sunroof, inviting Mr Moon to breakfast with him and telling him all the things he would be able to have for his breakfast and what they would do together for the day, this conversation went on for pretty much the whole hour journey home and still makes me smile thinking about it. It was the sweetest insight into his wandering mind and the first of many imaginary and wonderful conversations he would have with various characters. Now I have a little boy who switches on my computer when I'm not looking, goes to open firefox and puts NASA into the address bar to find Buzz Lightyear on NASA kids club so that he can play all the games and build rockets! I'll have to get that parental control going before too long!!
Excuse the artistic licence of the Union Jack!

Anyway the list of things to do for the space themed party is getting smaller so I think I will head off and get some shut eye before dawn! Love the fan page Char, I never even knew they existed! I'm a fan of yours, page or no page! xxx Night night all xxx

The Freckle Fairy is finished

Louise and Emay meet The freckle fairy  a story by my friend James Tapp has been made into a book, you may remember I was drawing the fairy for it. I haven't seen it in the flesh yet but am very excited about it. It has been known to us as the 'ff' for so long as they have kept it a secret from their girls. I wanted to show you her, I can't remember if I did before as I wanted to keep it under wraps a bit until he had finished it. So here she is the Freckle Fairy. I really did enjoy doing this and would love to do more children's stories.. who knows perhaps there will be more!

Capturing memories...occupying time.

Oh my, how sister had So much patience back when she was younger. I have tried to build a card house recently with our girls and can it be done? Nope...I think our cards were too new...these were my grandparents cards...I love this photo.
I remember not only building things with them and playing card games...but also using the Queen,Kings and Jacks asthough they were dolls.
We'd play for hours...with the simplest of things.

Do you remember what occupied your time as a child?

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

CELEBRATIONS....

Thank you SO much for the Birthday wishes(and to Tam for posting!!!)...I know my last post didn't sound too energized...BUT I'm BACK !!!

This is a new year, and I have LOTS to Celebrate. GREAT Family, FABULOUS Friends and that includes YOU all. Your encouragement worked wonders and this weekend it had lead me to think more about this whole process of blogging.
It's been a little over a a year since Tam and I started this World here together. I have been more productive in my everyday Life than ever before...and all your comments of kindness have so much to do with it.
THANK YOU!!!!

How was your Easter Weekend?

Ours was busy...but fun.
The Easter Bunny came on Sunday as you can see from the pictures...I have never seen 2 girls get through their Easter egg hunt around the house SO quickly...that's it...I have to tell the Easter Bunny to REALLY hide those eggs well next year!

Friday night Mr. R had a gig at the local Irish Pub...I love LIVE music...so it's always great to get friends out for some greasy Pub food and laughs.

Thursday was celebrated with take-out Sushi (thanks Mr.R) and cake with the girls...here's a picture of the girls blowing out my candles...yes, I confused them by having a 3,2 and a 5 candle on the cake.

Saturday night Mr.R surprised me...I knew we were going out  but had no clue as to where!
He took me on a de-tour through our home town and then got on the highway...YAY, we headed for Toronto!
It was late, 8pm, so I thought it would be unlikely that our friends would all drive down to the big City at that hour of the night...especially for Dinner!
We parked at 8.40pm and walked a little..I was checking all the restaurants as we walked past them to see if anything would pop out at me...Mr. R is REALLY good at keeping Birthday Surprises from me...

Then I saw a black Canopy with the name of the Restaurant "NOIR" on it....
YAY...we were going to NOIR!! If you've never heard about it, it's a "Dining Experience" Restaurant...you walk in, the wall by the Bar has the alphabet in brail and the menus were given to us to choose our meal choices before going in to be seated.getting everyone out...I love you dearly!
Our friends trickled in and in the end we were a party of 10! THANKS Mr. R for
ALL the food servers are blind in the restaurant and all of the rooms where you eat are COMPLETELY dark.
We were led into a dark  holding are between the first door and the second door and then led into our room.Told to hold onto the person in front of you...on their shoulder and you were lead to your seat.
A little tricky whilst holding onto your wine in one hand and jacket in the other.
The darkness smothered you...the feeling of security left you and you were reliant on voices, touch and sound.
Friends who are usually jolly and chatty...were very quiet. 2 friends couldn't handle the darkness and
needed to leave.
What an experience. I loved it! AND loved my gift of sight even more!
I believe everyone should experience this...it SO makes you appreciate your senses, every single one of them!

TODAY...I am energized and am cleaning the house...working with our girls on reading and their writing...hopefully I will have time to see how your Easter weekend was.

Thanks for sticking by me and for all the B-day wishes.
